Author: Yoshimi Oshiro

Yoshimi's passion of traveling began at a very early age. Her parents sent her to Okinawa, Japan to study abroad for one semester, in the third-grade. This was opposite everything that the seven-year old, who had never left the US Midwest, had ever experienced. But instead of feeling culture shocked, or homesickness, like her parents were concerned, she fell in love! She was in love with the excitement of the unknown, and the promise of adventure in places she had not been to, and in love with the whole traveling experience.
Now, she is 26-years old, and has visited 24 countries on four continents. Yoshimi still dreams of even more countries that she has never visited, and cultures she hasn’t yet experienced. She spent the summer of 2011 backpacking Europe on a very limited budget. She pitched a tent on most nights, and lived mainly off of dried oatmeal and almonds, hitchhiking as much as she could to save money.
Yoshimi's home-base is Oklahoma; the destination that she loves more than any other. She is a graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma, where she received her B.A. in Communications.
